“Lee Beavington is a writer with courage.  Getting to the places which resonate with readers requires going deep into the places where we ourselves are uncertain, and shadows leap high on the cave walls.  Lee is a person who cares about stories...and goes back over and over his writing until it fairly gleams.”

As reviewed by Publishers Weekly:

writers of the future 22

“The best speculative fiction reaches beyond the bells and whistles of the genre to explore the deeper complexities of the human condition.  The original stories selected in this year's Writers of the Future contest include strong attempts to do just that [such as] Lee Beavington's "Evolution's End," an old-school science fiction romp about a group of explorers who discover a simple cellular organism whose evolution has made it the greatest—and deadliest—of survivors. ”
